must get an ebay account

When I bought my new beaut phone I wanted to get a cover and screen protector but the store didn't have any pink covers in stock, only black ones.  They promised they would order a pink one for me and notify me when it arrived.   I mentioned to Jen Jen that I was waiting on a cover.   Whey don't you get one off ebay she suggested.   We looked them up and for a tenth of the price that I was going to pay in store I could get them on ebay.   I don't have an ebay accoount and have bought one other item from ebay with Jen Jens help.   Being in a bit of a rush Jen Jen orded my items for me on her account.   They would be shipped free of charge from China early November, no biggie I can wait.   The day I arrived home from Perth there was a package for me.   Your kidding already!   Jen Jen carefully applied the screen protector for me - I'm all thumbs when it comes to things like that and then popped the phone in the case and I was all set.
PS I'm still waiting for the phone store to phone me and let me know my pink case is in.

another home owner

Jarrod and beautiful Jen Jen have just bought a house in Mooroolbark not far from home glad they are still close by.  I will miss them terribly and Modo too.  If everything goes to plan they should be in before Christmas.   That will be nice for them.   Guess I will have a few decisions to make now.

Nikki spent the day making her birthday cake.   Can't say it went to plan but eventually Danny and I patched it together and it worked out.

it's amazing how far one little ticket can go

I went to Whitfords with Danny this morning to have a bit of a look and do a bit of exploring.   It was early when we arrived so nothing much was open.  I had originally decided I would also go to Hilary's and spend some time there before heading back to Whitfords for my ride home.  I rearranged my day and decided to go to Hilary's then back for a wander through Whitfords.    I wandered out to the bus stop and bought this amazing little day ticket from the bus driver.  I jumped onto the Scarborough bus and when I got to Hilary's I decided that I couldn't let the visit go by without going to Scarborough so I stayed on the bus deciding to visit Hilary's on the way back.   At Scarborough I did a walk around the beach, the wind was quite cool and I only had a light jumper with me so wandered back to the bus station to head back to Hilary's.  I noticed the Freemantle bus pulling out as I got there.   Now that would be nice, I like Fremantle but the next bus didn't leave til much later in the day.   On impulse I decided to go into Perth.  Once there I jumped on the Fremantle train which left Perth about every half hour and arrived in Fremantle about the same time as the sunshine.   As luck would have it the street market was on in the mall and I wandered through.  I spent the day exploring parts that I hadn't seen on my last visit.   Love the town.  About 2 I decided to head for home.   The public transport is so well used in Perth.   Back on the train back to Perth and it was packed.  I streamed off at Perth and got lost for the first time today.   I thought I had followed the signs to say to the bus terminals but everyway I turned I ended up at the trains again.   Finally I grabbed a railway employee sitting in a glass office (I don't think it was his job to give directions but I was desperate).   How do I get to the bus terminal I asked feeling quite useless.    I was sure he was going to say just there and look at me rather blankly, but thankfully he didn't.   Where are you going he asked me.  To Whitfords.  Oh he said have you got a ticket.   I flashed my now well used little magic ticket.   He pointed to the train on the platform through the gates. That train will take you to Whitfords and it leaves in a couple of minutes.  Oh train, I hadn't thought about that but of course I should have remembered.   I thanked the very polite and helpful gentleman and he sent me off with a big smile.  Its amazing how nice some people are and it really made me feel good.   Once I arrived at the Whitford stop it was a bus to the shopping center and I was ready for my ride home.  And no I never did get to Hilary's.

finally sleep

Nearly 12 hours sleep last night - finally.   Late to bed and early to rise finally caught up with me.   I dragged my poor weary body off to bed about 8.30 last night and here it is nearly 12 hours later and I'm feeling much better.  Been a long time since I have had such a big sleep but desperately needed it.

brett in bunbury

Spent the first couple of days with Brett in Bunbury.  Took the bus there and the train back to Perth.   Train is definately the better option.   Nicer travelling and better countryside.

and just across the road the circus was in town.

Spent a great couple of days in Bunbury.   On Sunday I went for a walk and first up I got lost.  I just needed to go out the front door turn right (i thought) then turn left onto Dixon St.   In theory that is how it was supposed to work.   I couldn't find Dixon St.   Eventually I asked a lady checking her mail box (on a Sunday?) and she was very helpful.   Oh she said I used to live on Dixon St.  If you go back the way you came. -  I groaned I should have turned left when I left the house.  Where are you headed to she asked.   Just the railway station to check on my train ticket.   Oh let me take you she insisted.   I'll just get the car out.   No it is fine.  I'm enjoying my walk, it's a beautiful day thank you all the same.   No it is no trouble she insisted.   I eventually convinced her that I was enjoying my walk.   She told me if I cut through the park it was a bit of a short cut.   I thanked her and found my way to the station.   Decided to continue on and explore from the station so I asked directions to the shopping center.   Oh the forum, just turn right at the first set of lights and continue straight.   You can't miss it. and she pointed vaguely to her right.   I walked out of the station then couldn't work out what direction I was supposed to head in in the first place.   I returned an asked her.  I set off.  First set of lights, turn right then straight ahead.   I walked for about half an hour and finally came to a Bunnings store.   Mmmm this doesn't look like a shopping centre.   I popped in for a cool down and some directions.   Oh the forum you go down to the first set of lights turn left then you will eventually see a MacDonalds sign its a bit of a walk but you can't miss it, she informed me.   Mmmm seems I've heard that before but it was a beautiful day for a walk and I needed the exercise.   What the worst that can happen.   I can get lost.   Ooops done that already twice today.   I set off and another half hour later saw the Maccas sign and headed for it.   But guess Bunbury weather is a bit like Melbourne it rains at the drop of a hat and it now began to spit with rain.   Oh guess thats the worst that can happen.  I can get caught in the rain.   I hoped it held off until I was safely at the Forum.  I bought a drink and sat down at a seat near a harmless looking little old lady.  A man with a seeing eye dog came in with his wife and he sat down and waited for her while she did some shopping.   They are beautiful animals aren't they  the little old lady commented.   Yes very smart animals I replied and she began telling me about a friend of hers.   I sat and listened and drank my coke.   I finished my coke and she talked on.   One story never really finished and she was telling me another and another and another and because no story ever had an ending it was hard to find a moment to interup her and say I had to go.   But I had been sitting there nearly an hour so I rearranged my little backpack giving her notice that I was leaving but she talked on and on and on.  Eventually I butted in.   Its been nice talking to you but its time I left.   She didn't bat an eye.   How many kids do you have she asked as I stood up,   Five I told her and how many dughters do you have she asked.  It was then I realised that this was her entertainement and most likely the only time she got to talk to people.   I smiled gently.  I have one daughter and I'm visiting my son here and I really must go.  Enjoy your day.  I headed for home.  I walked into the sunshine and headed off, but not reconizing anything I had no idea where I was headed to.   I stopped and asked a lady that was loading groceries into a four wheel drive which direction the railway station was.  She motioned in the opposite direction to which I had been walking.   She explained the quickest way to get there and obviously from the blank look on my face she realised I would never get there.  She offered me a ride to the station.   I'm going there anyway she said.   I felt bad.   That is really nice of you but I am enjoying my walk.   She gave me new directions.   Its a bit longer this way she explained but it is a bit more straight forward.   She offered several more times to give me a ride.  People at times can be so nice.  Again I thanked her and headed off.  A couple of streets later and I was beginning to recognise the streets  and in no time I could see the railway station.   Now all I had to do was retrace my steps from the station and I would be home again.   This I successfully did.   Hurrah.

nose bleed

Couldn't say that my trip to Perth got off on the best of starts.   The trip across was a little rough in patches but good.   Coming into Perth at dawn was a magnificant experience.  The dark orange glow of the horizon was magical.  We started to descend quite noticibly and a pain like a needle being pushed up through my left temple through the outside edge of my left eyebrow hit me.   All I could do was sit there with my hand tightly pushed to the side of my head to try to relieve the pain.   It lasted until we landed.  It eased off a bit as we got closer to landing but the pain was incredible.   It stayed with me for a while after we landed but only to a small degree and when I blew my nose there was blood.   Ooo not good and I have to fly home as well.   Nothing like this has ever happened before.  I swallowed a couple of panadol on the plane but it took a while for the pain to ease noticibly.
PS I was still getting a taint of blood when I blew my nose for 2 days afterwards.

started walking again

With v. inflamed foot walking was no longer a priority or really an option.   As my foot got better mainly from rest have started back slowly again but am trying not to overdo it at first.   Taken modo for a walk the last couple of days.   So nice to be walking again.  I just hope I don't loose too much fitness before the big event.

me organized,

Wow I am actually getting organized.  Phoned the Veolia bus lines for the bus info to Bunbury and told there was none on a Saturday.   But, but, that can't be right I said in confusion.   It is listed on your website that there are buses.  No sorry I was told no.  OK not confident in getting to the train on time from the airport and no bus service to Bunbury on Saturday but she told me if I wanted to book for Sunday they could get me there.   Thanks but no thanks, I'm sure your website said there was a service on Saturday, I'll call you back if I change my mind about Sunday.   I went back to the website.   Definately South West have a service running and the website said South West were now part of Veolia Transport. OK maybe I need to phone South West and not Veolia but why didn't she tell me to phone South West directly.   I found their number and called.   Yes they ran a bus leaving at 1.30 from the Esplanade bus terminal.  Phoning I was also able to use the 10% discount offer on my YHA card.  OK that equated to $3 but a discount is a discount.  So am booked one way to Bunbury on Saturday.
Phoned re airport pickup and told can't book just show up on the day.   OK I said a bit dubiously but what if the shuttle bus is full, then we send another I was told.   It would only be a 10 minute wait.  Guess I didn't have to be in the city in a hurry now that I was travelling by bus so that would be OK.

New mobile

Picked up new mobile phone today.  Pink was a popular colour so they had to get one in for me.  There is  so much I need to learn about using it.   Will never use all credits but so far love the new phone.  It has a large display of the time so don't need my glasses to check the time and it has a weather station on the home screen.  I guess I am a bit obsessed about the weather so that is perfect.

wedding dress

Went trying on wedding dresses with Kimmii on Saturday.  One she adores has beading on front.v.nice and v. elobrate.   But because it was Kimmii's third visit to the shop trying on dresses the lady was really pushing her to put a deposit on it.   Basically she was telling her if she didn't buy it don't come back.

gel heels

I love gel heels.   Did some research online and found out what was causing me pain which was inflammation of the foot well in particular the heel.   So I figured what was needed was a bit of rest and I also saw good reports about gel heels.   I was willing to try anything  so I bought a pair.  Considering I paid $65 for a pair of innersoles that are now sitting abandoned in the botom of my locker at work the price of $5 was a no lose.   I just wanted to be able to walk again and I am very happy. Even pain in bottom of feet when I first get up in morning is nearly gone.  When I spent the weekend going to Mildura it was a huge time off my feet.   That was enough rest to relieve most of the inflamation and then the added gel heels.   My feet (and me) are happy again.   Don't think I will be going back to the podiatrist for a follow up visit.
