web 2.0 tools

Wow there seems to be something for everyone and I guess knowing what is available is the first step in being able to find what you are looking for. I decided to investigate Picnik an online photo editor. I found it interesting but not what I was really looking for. I use Picasa and find it great for organising my photos and giving me easy access. It is very simple to email photos from Picasa and it automatically resizes them as well.

These are a few other sites that I thought sounded good or interesting. I did explore a few other sites at well but some seemed to be inhabited by 12 year olds and though they sounded fun didn't live up to expectations.

my blog zoho

Well this has solved the problem of what to write about in Zoho writer. Feeling impatient I went back to Zoho sign in and clicked on the link ... if you have not received a confirmation email and it suggested the email may have gone to my junk mail folder and bingo there it was. So I am turning into a real wizz at this compter stuff. Now I am going to see if I can easily import this page into my blog. I guess I will find out if I am turning into the wizz kid I think I am as I have no handy little helper on standby.

LOOKY LOOK this has worked. Can you believe it, it worked. How easy was that?

Zo this is Zoho

Zoho sounds fantastic. I think - apart from the blog this would have to be my favourite thing so far. Now I say sounds fantastic as I signed up to Zoho and have been eagerly awaiting my confirmation email ever since. Well OK it has only been a couple of hours but I thought the email would be instant and I can't wait to have a really good look around at this and to do a bit of experementing. If it is as good as it sounds I may never use Word again. How great to have access to all documents no matter which computer I am on and being able to access templates messenging and nearly anything else computer wise that I may desire all from the one source.

Sandbox play time

I've been here before as well. Guess it is not doing me any harm to do a refresher on this section. And I definately know that I haven't been any further than here. I had already added my blog to the ERL section of the favoutite blogs page so from now on this learning thing is going to become a lot harder as I haven't been there and done that before. It is now after midnight but it has been worth it to get a bit more done to my blog. It has been one of those little guilt things that has been niggling away at me. What I don't get done in the next couple of weeks though will just have to wait as I will be taking a couple of holidays yay. Actually I think the holidays are just a good excuse not to complete the 23 things. Isn't amazing how inovative I can be in finding diversions to take me away from my blog.

Wiki

Once again I've been here and done that. Obviously I am just not good at keeping my blog up to date. I have used Wikipedia a lot. I find it very useful when try to find authors works etc. Up until now I have not really taken the time to find out how it worked but now I have a better understanding of it. Like a lot of things you cannot believe everything you read but I do find it a very useful tool. I suppose in some ways if anyone can add, edit or delete content it would help to keep content honest. And how do you know which version is the correct one. If an article is altered severely who makes the final decision as to which is the correct content. Actually the more I think about this the more questions I have so maybe I had better do a bit more reading.
Wiki a Hawaiian word for fast was originally described as the simplest online database that could possibly work. Someone in another article suggested Wiki stood for What I Know Is! Oh well guess I'd better keep reading.

library 2.0 web 2.0 & me 2.0

I read and could see onward and upward and outward was the way for libraries to go to stay relevant. About the only thing the articles didn't suggest was broadcasting the library message as a Beatle song into the universe to try to capture an as yet untapped market.
It has been with great trepidation that I have ventured to write something about Libraries 2.0 etc so I will leave it at that.

Technorati

Wow I am ahead of myself. I realised this looked familar and found that I had already signed up for it. Now to the next step of finding out what it is all about. Well very interesting and I have found some great blogs and websites as well. Still looking around but have put 2 into my favourites and given them tags.
